A Farewell to Three Sonnox Classics
Oxford DeBuzzer, DeClicker and DeNoiser are being retired.
After years of faithful service, we’ve decided to retire the Oxford DeBuzzer, DeClicker, and DeNoiser plugins.
These restoration tools have helped clean up countless sessions, removing hums, clicks, pops, and background noise in everything from voiceovers and archival recordings to full productions. But needs change, and so do we.
Why we’re stepping away
They have served their purpose well and left a remarkable legacy, from cleaning up courtroom evidence for forensic teams to restoring classic films like The Sound of Music, shaping the sound of Call of Duty and Flags of Our Fathers, and helping tell real-world stories in reality TV shows like The First 48. Oxford DeBuzzer, Oxford DeClicker, and Oxford DeNoiser have left their mark and we’re proud of the role they’ve played across music, film, TV, games, and beyond.
However, our focus is increasingly on what we do best: building intuitive, musical tools for creatives who want to retain control of their sound. Tools that inspire, solve problems, fit naturally into your workflow, and help bring ideas to life, without getting in the way.
What this means for existing owners
If you already own any of these plug-ins, nothing changes right now:
• Your licenses are still valid, and always will be.
• You can continue to download, install, and authorise as normal.
• We’ll offer full support for these plug-ins until December 31st, 2025.
After that date, we expect the plug-ins to continue working on currently supported systems, but we won’t issue updates or fixes for new issues.
A refund for recent purchases
We want you to value and feel good about the tools you choose, even as they step out of the spotlight. So, if you purchased any of these plug-ins directly from us during May or June 2025, we’d like to offer you a full refund, and you can keep your licences. Please reach out to support, and we'll get that sorted for you.
This offer will run until July 14th, after which these products will no longer be available for purchase.
