A Modern EQ with a Heritage of Excellence
The Oxford EQ isn’t just rooted in history—it’s still leading the way in today’s most demanding productions. Built on the legacy of the iconic OXF-R3 console, this EQ plugin has evolved to meet the needs of contemporary music, film, and live sound engineers. Its sound-shaping capabilities, ultra-low noise, and transparency make it a staple in studios around the world, trusted by Grammy-winning producers and top-tier engineers.

Whether you’re working on music mixes, film scores, or live sound environments, Oxford EQ delivers precision control for everything from intricate frequency carving to broad, musical adjustments. Its four versatile EQ types give you the flexibility to handle everything from corrective surgery to tonal shaping, all while maintaining a musical, natural sound that has made it a favourite for decades.

Four Distinct EQ Types

  • Type 1: A versatile, SSL E-style EQ, Type 1 provides smooth, transparent results with minimal effort, making it the ‘go-to’ for everyday mixing needs where balance and clarity are essential.

  • Type 2: Designed for more remedial work, this mode offers asymmetrical cut and boost curves, making it highly effective for resonance control and corrective EQing. It excels in drums, percussion, and other transient-heavy instruments.

  • Type 3: Based on classic console EQs like the Neve and SSL G series, Type 3 provides softer, musical curves perfect for tonal shaping on vocals, instruments, or entire mixes.

  • Type 4: The go-to choice for mastering, Type 4 delivers smooth, gentle curves that help blend and balance entire tracks, giving them a cohesive, polished finish.

    EQ Notes

And there was I thinking that all equalisers sounded about the same. In a way, this equaliser sounds like nothing; it does no harm. But here's the thing: it's the first equaliser I've used (and I've used many) that has consistently turned my attention back to the music, and even the lyric, rather than the equalisation adjustments in hand. It's by far the best sounding eq I've used.

    Oxford EQ

Posted by Tony SanFilippo on 29th Nov 2024

After this EQ being on my radar for so long I finally took the plunge and I'm glad I did. I have used it on 3 recent mixes and it just makes the sometimes complex task of tone shaping in a mix much easier. I can hear what it's changing easily to evaluate if I'm going in the right direction, and easily change what I'm doing if I started in the wrong place. The filters are amazing. For the first time ever I was able to simply focus room mics with the filters along. This is now my goto EQ.
